Would that cover weight loss surgery?
I asked a similar question a few days earlier so this time I simplified the question. Hopefully I will get more responses.
as an option does anyone know how much extra it is? I own my own business and I want to get a group insurance plan. How much extra is it to add on other benefits such as wls?
I talked to one of my students that works for blue cross blue shield and she said you can pick different benefits if you want to add on things. She just didn't know how much extra it would be.
Decemebr 2001, I lost 220 pounds, but then I got depressed and gained back 75 pounds. My tummy allows me to eat whatever I want and I don't like that. I just want to have surgery again and get healthy again.
Anyone that has had bariatric weight loss surgery ever experiened black out spells, passout, or/and faint?
Cause my fiancee' had biartic surgury over 3 years ago and he has experienced black out spells and all of the above but the past few months it has gotten worse. His surgery doctor said (this was 3 years ago) he said that it should stop when he has lost enough weight and it has but it's just gotten worse.
I am wanting to have this surgery. I was required to have a 6 month superviesd diet, a heart evulation, lung and psyc done. after having this done will I be approved? I want to hear why you were denied or if you didnt have any problems at all after meeting their requirements.
I have been cleared for surgery and am only waiting for the Doctor's scheduler to call me. This is expected to occur in a week or so. Recently I have come to find out that the post-op recovery time is between 2-4 weeks! I am an accountant and have a pretty sedentary job (obviously) Do I really need to be off that long? I am not getting bypass so I thought that the time comittment would be far far less. I was expecting to be out perhaps 2 days after surgery. Can anyone please forward to me their experience?
where else do they send u after the psychologist?

Just asked primary physician for referrel and got denial letter a week later saying that I don't have severe enough cardiopulmonary disease, diabetes or sleep apnea. That my current high blood pressure and hypo-thyroidism are being managed well with medication.

by weight im talking about muscle mass..
if you have had this surgery already, have any of you noticed their monthly grocery budget being much less after the surgery. Serious question, so no jokers please. I am on a fixed income. THanks!
i live in michigan and have no fault benefits. i was involved in a car accident 2 years ago and lost my leg resulting in weight gain and need to stabilize my weight to wear prostheis. my doctor wants me to get the surgery and has scheduled an appointment with the weight loss clinic.
such as gastric bypass and the lap band. Personally, i think they are just medically-induced anorexia. It completely deprives your body of the nutrients it needs. sure, it works quickly, but eventually, you'll just keep getting skinnier because you can't build any muscle. or, you'll hit a plateau, and gain back all the weight.
if you've had it, i'm not trying to judge you. tell me why you like it so much and how it's benefited your life.
it drives me nuts when people just jump into the surgery, without even attempting to workout or lose the weight on your own. what i've found from talking to people is that most of them eat worse now that they've had the surgery. because they crave the junk, then they don't have room for anything healthy.
Wouldn't just eating the special diet shrink ones stomach over time and aid in weightloss? I know bypass moves the intestines around bit it's such major surgery. Why risk it when just eating and following the long term post op diet plan with a nutritionist would produce same results at the same time?
Or do they need to have it repaired first?
Exercising everyday and eating less and healthier has not worked at all.
does diabetes affect the chances and what weight does one have to be and height as well
I cannot afford lap band surgery and my insurance wont cover it. It has been a 24 year battle anyone know where i can get help?
I had gastric bypass in 2003. Since I have lost over 250 pounds, as the result I have alot of excess sink in the abdominal area. This causes sores. And truly is not easy to keep clean. Continually smells bad. What can I do to get help? Money is tight. So I have a problem paying. I have medicare. How or who can help?
