Go shopping now, get a dress at your size now. If you lose weight, you’ll be able to have the dress taken in. If you buy a dress in a smaller size thinking you will fit into it by the wedding, well, that’s not a good idea. Most brides have the idea of losing weight before the wedding but guaranteed you’ll have your mind on so much else you may not reach your goal weight before the date.
Congrats and good luck though!
I’m not going serious wedding dress shopping until next fall and I hope to be at my ideal weight by then. I’m starting now. I don’t want to be one of those unrealistic brides who try to lose 50 pounds in 2 months.
I just cut back on my calories and trimmed down on carbs. The only time I’d eat junk food was on weekends, and it’d only be like a slice or so of pizza and some chips…
I didn’t do it for our wedding though, but I kept the weight off for our wedding.
I also took a vitamin from walmart called "Stress tabs energy" and it had vitamin b complex and all of the other vitamins you’d need. I went from a size 12 to a 9 in a couple months..
I probably gained weight. I eat when I am stressed an planning a wedding caused me a lot of stress.
I lost a little weight before I went dress shopping by doing weight watchers. I also talked to a seamstress about how much she could realistically take in a dress. According to my doctor and a seamstress, losing ten pounds will make you about one-size smaller. It depends on the person and the size though. For missy sizes (0-14) there is one inch between sizes, but for sizes 14 and up there are 3 inches between sizes. Also remember that it is much easier to take a dress in one size than it is to let it out one size. Go now and when you lose ten pounds, they can take your dress in! A lot of shops have free alterations. It is so much fun to shop for dresses! Why wait!
hey there, definitely try and get into the shape you want before dress shopping then you will see what suits you at your new weight. also if you choose and order a dress while your still trying to lose weight this puts pressure on you for losing weight. you dont need extra stress close to the wedding. lose the weight then shop. but dont pressure yourself too much, im sure you look great as you are. xx
i purchased my dress and then a month ago i started working out and i just took my dresses last week and got them taken in. she had to take them in two dress sizes. so no you can get the dress and then lose the weight. plus you dont want to get something that fits after the weight lose and then when it comes time for you wedding its too little. best bet is to just get it in your size better safe then sorry!!
Im planning on losing 10 to 15 pounds before I go try dresses on. I have already cut my calories intake and am only drinking water. Good Luck!
