How did you lose weight for your wedding?

My goal is 20 pounds and I have a year. Every "bridal" board post says weight watchers. What do you think?
I'm an lacto-ovo vegetarian also (vegetarian that eats eggs and dairy) . Any plans that are accommodating?

weight watchers is actually very very good especially since you have an entire year and only need to lose 20 pounds. weight watchers ( I have not personally done it) but I have quite a few friends who have , including doctors and everyone i know who did weight watchers took it off slowly but kept it off. Remember the slower it comes off the easier to keep off. Plus weight watchers is more of a way of living than a diet, because you add up points, so if you want to have a glass of wine or a pice of cake on saturday you cut back on points the rest of the week. you can eat at most restuarnts including fast food.
I had triplets and gained 100 pounds, the first 50 cam off almost immediately but a year later i was shocked and too emberrased to even put on a bathing suit, so i lost my weight through a program called Metabolic research. BELIEVE ME IT WORKS, I DID NOT ONLY GET BACK TO MY ORIGINAL 110 POUNDS IN FOUR MONTHS I GOT DOWN TO 100, but it was so hard, at times i did not think i could make it. I just kept repeating their motto "Nothing taste as good as being skinnny feels" It was hard for the first two or three weeks becasue I had to give up everything, all sugar caffein etc. I could not even have diet coke. But something happened week three, i went in for my twice weekly weight check and i was down 10 pounds. i decided to buy new clothes and i was down two sizes. Believe me that wa enough motivation to keep going.
i am not suggesting that metabolic is for everyone. it is hard, and it is expensive. But i wanted the weight off fast and for me i had to follow something that rigid because if i was allowed the luxerous tha weigh watchers gives i would cheat here and there etc. with metabolic it is a chemical thing so you have to follow it strictly, i mean if you deviate at all you will not lose weight that week. i am not sure of their success for keeping it off, i know they have a maintenace program, but i did not follow it. i was never an overweight person i just needed a jump start, a kick in the butt. omce i got back to my normal size i went back to eating the way i always did. i am at or near the same weight for 8 years now
good luck
you can always ask your doctor for meridia, the diet pill. my doc prescibes it with two other topimax and medphorin or soemthing like that and he and everyone i know who take htat cocktail are all super thin and NEVER EVER HUNGRY
I love weight watchers as well simply because it’s very easy to stay on and is something you can keep up for a lifetime unlike fad diets like Atkins.
I’m not too worried about dropping huge amounts of weight before my wedding. My fiancee fell in love with me just how I am and proposed few extra pounds and all so I feel no urge to suddenly decide there is something wrong with me just because I’m putting on a white dress.
HOW DO YOU LOSE WEIGHT PERIOD NOT JUST FOR WEEDING. COS I SURE AINT GETTING MARRIED.!!!!!
weight watchers is what I’m doing and I’m almost all the way there just four more pounds. I also completly cut out chocolate.
Personally I lost 50 lbs with weight watchers in a year and I loved it.
I prefer to call it a lifestyle change rather then a diet to be honest because you arent really banning foods you are just learning how to eat them within healthy reason.
Going to meetings helps keep you on track, meet other people who share the same goals and struggles. And getting married will just give you a great incentive to stick to it!
Good luck and Congrats on the wedding!!
I would say stop eating dairy…I did this and lost about 15lbs…
I have also stopped eating processed foods, foods with high fructose corn syrup, with monosodium glutamate, and partially hydrogenated oils…I’ve never been one to eat fast food, except on ocassion…but I’ve fully stopped that… ummm I don’t drink pop (obviously because it contains high fructose corn syrup)…I am not really exercising very much but I walk 5-10 minutes a day and I waitress for 4hrs a day…and that is a lot of walking… lol… I would suggest cardio and an organic diet…If you have money I would suggest the weight loss protocol in kevin trudeau’s the weight loss cure "they" don’t want you to know about…it is pretty pricey…but apparently works… I have yet to try it…I don’t have the money for it yet…good luck
I know weight watchers works for a lot of people. But I ended up wasting my money on it. I was just married in June- and lost 15 lbs before hand. I was told that it would be better to try to "tone-up" rather than try to "lose weight" before the wedding. And that’s what I aimed to do. I had a strapless- so I did lots of arm exercises- because that was the most important part for me. I also did a cleanse (isogenix) which I absolutley did not like- but I lost the 15 pounds I wanted to lose- and I really did have more energy afterwards. It also helped me to quit drinking soda.
I didn’t. Well, not on purpose anyway. He got me as I am!
Do weight watchers, and also exercise with your soon to be husband. Its a great way to talk and excerise at the same time. and well to get to know each other.
I have lost 64lbs since January of this year. I did Diet Center it was great. You eat three bars or drink three shakes a day and one great meal. It may sound like a crash diet but its not. By June of this year I was down 64lbs. Today I’m still the same. I’m eating my 3 meals a day now and I have not gained anything back.

I used (and continue to use) Nikken’s Body Balance system. It is a healthy way to lose weight. Even though I don’t have any weight to lose now, I continue to use the products because I really like them and feel that make me healthier. I’ve included a link below- let me know if you’d like more info or have any questions!
And by the way- congratulations, and best of luck!

I lost weight because I stopped eating junk food, crisps, sweets and started eating fruit instead. i also stopped taking sugar in my tea/coffee, drinking more water and not drinking any alcohol at all, I lost about 7 pounds, I did not really need to lose any anyway, but jut those simple changes made a big difference.
