I am diagnosed "borderline diabetic" by my doctor. ....am probably even more across the "border" now since I have gained additional weight since diagnosed with borderline diabetes a while ago....and high blood pressure as well..due to being probably 95 lbs. overweight.
I feel weak when I try to diet...low fat...low carbs normal protein......grumpy...and hateful.
When I try to go on Atkins...that was HORRIBLE for causing water retention...more than my usual...from all the sodium involved in those protein overloads.......and bad for high blood pressure. It is imperative that I get on a eating style that will help me lose gradually, healthily, and PERMANENTLY......But, what is a good diet plan for my "almost" -(if not "for sure") diabetes? I'm miserable...No energy....hurting legs and feet...I'm a hairstylist of 33 years old that stands on my feet all day...they swell due to that, being overweight, and hurt from the water in my ankles....much pain.....I feel 80 years old.....HELP...????

I am currently trying to drop weight so that I may begin applying for fire departments. I have been lifting weights for about 6 years now, but my diet has always been "piss" poor. Multiple trips to fast food restaurants. I starting doing the P90X workout program about a month ago, but quickly learned that the nutrition guide can quickly put you in the poor house. I was easily spending about 250.00 dollars a week on pure food. Results have defiantly come quick, but at this moment my wife and I are a single family income ( I am a full time student). I want to continue my per suit of optimal weight loss, but eating right is burning our pockets, is there a cheaper way?
Lately we have been eating Banquet TV dinners because they are only a dollar each, plus they are packed with sodium and tons of preservatives. Breakfast I have been putting down 1 cup of oatmeal with some fruit and a protein shake, are there any alternatives?
I am only doing P90X because I am trying to get into the Fire Department. All of my friends that have went to academy say there is a lot of cardio and body weight exercise (ie. pull ups and pushups)
