I know four people who have had bariatric bypass, and two of them needed their gallbladders removed – one 1 year after, and one 2 years after, They were all warned that gallstones are fairly common after the surgery.
I know when I went to the Dr. he told me that people that loose a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time are more likely to develop gallstones.
